| In his own words... "I was born to David and Tina Prieb Jost on May 26, 1921 at Herbert, Sask., Canada, the 8th of 10 children. At the age of four, my mother died. At the age of five, we got a mother in Justina Warkentin Jost. We always loved her as our own mother. I told somebody once my father had married after having ten children and she had been a nurse. He told me she would have to be a nurse to take over a bunch of children like that. We moved to Kansas when I was six years old. In 1936, I was saved and baptized and joined the Gnadenau Church. In 1937, we moved to Reedley, CA. We joined the Reedley Church. After serving from Fall of '42 - Spring of '45 in CPS Camp, I started farming. On Aug. 6, '48 I married Rosella Wiens. We had many good years together. We had four boys. We enjoyed seeing them all grow up and start their own homes. Rosella passed away Sept. 21, 1988 after being married forty years, one and a half months. I love my family very, very much. The grandchildren are especially very dear to me. I pray that some day we'll all meet again in heaven." Jake Jost is survived by one brother, David Jost, four sons and four daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
