The first module of the course covers sending, replying, forwarding, and attaching files to e-mail messages. Participants will learn e-mail shortcuts and join several educational listserves. Participants will also learn to use a Web Discussion Board. Regular online correspondence with the instructor and other course participants throughout the course will reinforce the participant's online communications skills. The second module of the course will focus on the resources available on the World Wide Web. Course participants will explore educational resource websites, kid-safe websites, homework helpers, web reference sites, online libraries, museums and archives, and online news. Participants will also learn how to locate additional educational resources using search engines, web indexes, parallel search tools and specialized web directories. The third module of the course will develop the skills educators need to publish on the web. Selecting one of the five available options, participants will learn to how to create their own personal or classroom webpages.
