Finding More Resources on the Web


In the previous activities, you explored hundreds of websites with resources appropriate for classroom use. As you may have guessed, there are millions more out there on the web. How do you find them?

The web is now estimated to consist of over 800 million webpages. Unlike the libraries we are grew up with, the web doesn't have a card catalog. There is no master plan that organizes all the information on the web.

Fortunately, there are online tools available that can be of assistance. The next activities will guide you in an exploration of these tools. You will explore Search Engines, Web Indexes, Parallel Search tools and Web Directories.
