This particular website explores the current and future developments of the tourist industry and the new possibilities that Latin America is facing. Tourism in a new industry which could be exploited without facing major complications with the support of government and private industry. The website also consider different elements such is inbound and outbound tourism, safety, infrastructure and public health.

Although this is a commercial website which presents different tours and traveling packages to Latin America, I enjoyed the brief cultural and historical summaries about each on the Latin American countries. Pictures and other visual aids were very helpful.

and outdoor recreation website which, in this case, presents a personal testimonio
of Ron Mader who traveled through Latin American countries in search for eco-tourism
style of traveling. Latin America presents many preferred eco-touristical places
for any taste. The web page presents a series of 'question - answer' directed
to R. Mader from people that have been inquiring about eco-tourism.

This is also a commercial web page. However, I found a couple of features could be rather important for any researcher: a simple to find, schematic format, and 64 different links that reach any kind of interests. Very user-friendly and comprehensible site.

This is the website for the Latin America Travel Association. The presentation of the web site is not that colorful or attractive however it has information for each country of Latin America in areas of tourism and culture. The purpose of this association is to promote the awareness of Latin America as a tourism destination.

This website is called Planet.com and is dedicated to Eco-travels in Latin America. The mission of the website is to to create a lively public space for the development of conscientious tourism that benefits travelers and locals alike. The website includes personal comments, books, analysis and education resources for those interested in eco-turism.

While researching, I found interesting that many tourists are traveling to Latin America not just for its natural beauty but also to learn Spanish . This website includes several Spanish schools in Latin America that offer their services to foreigners willing to come, travel and learn. It just a different and interesting perspective to do traveling.

This website has the support of USA Today and it addresses all the issues related to tourism and Latin America. From news, to packages, hotels, reservations and friendly information from each of the Latin-American countries, this web site presents a nice layout and format. To go a step further than other web sites, travellamerica includes: restaurants, car rentals, weather, visa information, etc. Very complete.

This website was developed by the World Economic Forum, an organization that gathers several countries in the world with the purpose to deal with the economic problems, and their consequences, of countries around the world. As mentioned before, Latin America has an incredible tourism potential, and its adequate use could make a difference in their economy.

This is a new web site, which includes a weekly newsletter, a quarterly magazine and even a language store. Because its newness, the website is still under construction, nevertheless some features are up and running.

Travel_library.com is a rather small website. Most of its information seems to come from personal experiences of travelers that have decided to share their experiences while traveling. The Central and South American sections include information from travelers since 1996 up to today. Because this is a recompilation of personal testimonies, this could be an interesting website to search more in depth.

This is a project promoted by the University of Texas. This is an extensive recompilation of areas related to Latin America. The project is called Latin American Network. The tourism area recompiles a large number of links related to Latin American countries and tourism.

as a separate section for every continent. The Central- South American section
includes a total of 7 links that will move us to different travel agent pages
as well as links by countries.

American University in Washington DC has created this website, which talks about a different approach towards tourism in Latin America. Basically, the site presents the case of Salvador, a city in Brazil. The apparent purpose of the site is to present an alternative for travelers to visit and to be part of the daily-life characteristics in different cities and places in Latin America.

Finally, this site presents even another tourism-alternative. Ecotourism, urban tourism and sustainable tourism. This site is targeted to independent travelers and backpackers who believed in tourism but sustaining the basic characteristics of the environment. In other words, to visit but to do the least amount of damage, if any, to the current eco-system.
