Great site-easy to use for middle school students. This site contains factual information on an extensive list of countries. Each country page contains a map of the country with its surrounding area. Site includes information on: geography, people, government, economy, communications, transportation, military, and transitional issues.

Good site for contact information. This site contains information for the wary traveler to Vanuatu. Includes descriptions and contact numbers for the following: country description, entry requirements, crime information, criminal penalties, medical facilities, medical insurance, other health information, aviation safety, Y2K information, aviation and Y2K, traffic safety and road conditions, registration/embassy location.

This site has a cool picture of a man leaping from a bamboo tower, thus proving his manhood. This site also has links to The Washington Post and The Associated Press on recent stories relating to Vanuatu. This site has numerous articles from countries in Asia. The article pertaining to Vanuatu is included in this site. It reports on a recent earthquake that measured 7.1 on the Richter Scale and left many people injured and dead in its wake. It is a very brief article but it gives an updated estimate of the population of Pentecost Island.

Awesome site! Professionally done and extensive in its findings. This is a site has an abundance of information not only pertaining to the culture of Vanuatu but to every other aspect relating to the people of Vanuatu. This is the best site I’ve seen so far on Vanuatu. J

Quite interesting. This page gives a description of the John Frum-Cargo Cult Movement based on Tanna, Vanuatu. This gives insight into the connection made between an ancient mythical story and a modern cultural icon (who may never reappear in the islands).

This is a modern political history of Vanuatu by Professor Michael Ogden of University of Hawaii at Manoa. The information in here is a bit intense and might not be at the reading level of a middle schooler, but it is important nonetheless.
