What the Web is…

The Web has been remarkable in that its founders "self-documented" its birth and early development online. As you will may notice, several of these websites were actually created by the founders of the Internet and the World Wide Web.

Start with a quick look at the visualizations of the web found at the "Atlas of Cyberspace" website.

Next, explore the required websites (marked with *) which will provide a brief overview of the history of the internet and world wide web as well as an introduction to the internet infrastructure which supports this world wide web.

Open the TEC 912 digital logbook. Record your observations as you explore those websites.

Click the link below to begin your exploration. Note: This link will open in a new browser window (or tab). Close that window/tab to return to this page when you complete your online explorations.

What the Web Is

When you finish reviewing those sites, send me an email message summarizing what you have found. Title the message The Web Is

The next activity will explore what the Web does.
