1. MiddleSchoolScience.com - Lesson Plans –
Est. 1997
http://www.middleschoolscience.com
This
site was created by a former teacher.
The site is set up very well.
There
are many subject areas to choose from in the field of Science.
My
area of teaching is Life Science. This
site provides many different
lessons,
labs, activities and projects for my
grade of teaching. Some of
the
topics include cells, genetics, microscope, classification, insects, plants,
and
much more. All of which are very
valuable to me, especially when you
want
alittle change of pace from the usual labs and activities that are done
year
in and year out.
2. ENC Math and Science Teacher Center
This
site I found through an online library search.
It has many different
areas
and is not just limited to lesson plans.
Other areas of interest are
curriculum
resources, web links, education topics (such as assessment and
problem
solving) and even professional development.
An all-around
fundamental
site.
3. Discovery.com - Kathy Schrock - 2002
http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/eval.html
This
site is associated with The Discovery Channel and is a great website.
It
is sectioned off into areas for teachers, students or parents. The teacher
area
offers evaluation surveys, lesson plans, clip art and even a puzzlemaker.
The
main attraction is educational programs on TV.
4. BUBL Link:
570 Life sciences, biology
This
webpage offers 14 links for Life Science and Biology. When you click
on
any one of those links it brings you to another page with more suggestions
of
categories/links to go to. They include
book chapters, tutorials, assignments
and
tests. It is basically a catalog of
selected Internet resources and was created
in
the United Kingdom.
5. Science Magazine - 2003
This is an online version of the magazine. It is good to check on this site
now
and then to find the happenings in the world of science. This site also
features
a search to the site, browsing the archives or view the current issue.
6. Kiddyhouse.com - Lesson Plans
http://www.kiddyhouse.com/Teachers/lplifescience.html
lessons
even include downloadable newsletters, experiments and teacher’s guides.
7. The Teacher’s Corner – 1998-2002
http://www.theteacherscorner.net/science/index.htm
This
site has a vast amount of resources for teachers, including lesson plans.
They
categorize the areas of science for you to locate which is more aimed at
your
area of study or the age range of your students. What I like about this site
is
it has an area for “Thematic Units” (such as things to do on Earth Day), a
“Seasonal”
area, “Teacher Resources”, “The Teacher’s Lounge” (which has
factoids,
educational news, newsletter and message board) and even a “Book Nook”
with
recommendations for books for children, professionals, or young adults/teens.
This
site has a wide variety of information and I will be making good use of this
site.
8. Pro Team Corvette Sales
http://www.proteam-corvette.com/
This
site has everything for all years of corvettes, including parts, accessories
and
even gifts. I am restoring an old corvette pace car and it has become a hobby
of
mine. You can even check out their
inventory on this site.
9. CorvetteMagazine.com
This
online magazine site includes features, news, new products, and events
on
everything having to do with corvettes!
It even includes a searchable
archive
database. There are also many
photographs of this outstanding vehicle.
10. Corvette Action Center
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/
This
site is known as “The ultimate online hub of Corvette news and information”.
The
site contains historical facts, polls and reviews. What is also a nice feature
on
this site is a bulletin board where you can post your question/suggestion on
any
topic
relating to the corvette. There is also
a “Tech Center”.
11. Ken Polsson - Chronology of Chevrolet
Corvettes – 1995-2002
http://www.islandnet.com/~kpolsson/vettehis/
This
site is a timeline of events in the history of the corvette. The timeline
begins
in
1951 until present. The site also has a
link of references for details on specific
events
concerning corvettes.
12. Chevrolet’s Official Site – 2003 Chevy
Corvette
http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/
What
better place to see what the new corvette looks like (or will look like)
than
on the official page by it’s maker. You
can find out information on any
model
that Chevy makes, but I’m basically concerned with the corvette. This site
is
also good if you are looking for dealer information. Hopefully soon I will
be
heading there myself!!
13. MotorTrend.com
http://media10.fastclick.net/w/safepop.cgi?mid=20427&sid=12342&id=103785&len=229&c=59&nfcp=1
This
site is the online version of the magazine.
It brought me to the article
when
this car was first being introduced to the public. This site lists all the
“particulars”
on the vehicle, such as how many made, the color scheme, etc.
It
also goes into proceeds going to charity for each car bought. Jeff Gordon is
a
Nascar driver. The reason I was so
interested in this topic is because my wife
has
this car. I wanted to learn all about
it.
14.
JeffGordon.com
http://www.jeffgordon.com/newsarchive/2002/1028.html
This
site has more specific information on this new Jeff Gordon Limited Edition
2003
Monte Carlo SS. It not only lists
detailed information on the car itself, but
goes
into the charities that Jeff Gordon and Hendrick motorsports contribute to.
15.
Chevrolet’s
Official Site
http://www.chevrolet.com/monte_carlo/multimedia/gordon_pace_car/
On
this official site for the car, not only do you get details on the interior
and
exterior of the car, you can also download an official two-page color
print-out
on the car. This is the 2003 Monte
Carlo SS Jeff Gordon Signature
edition,
which is limited to 2,424 made. Jeff
Gordon is number 24, hence
the
relationship to amounts produced.
