Creating Your Website

Now it is time to use the webpage design skills you have learned to create your own website. You can develop your own webpages "from scratch" or you can download the class website templates using the links below.

Classweb Website (in .zip format for PC users)

Classweb Website (in .sit format for Mac users)

Note: The files above are zipped/stuffed. If your web browser does not automatically expand the files, you will need to download WinZip or Stuffit Expander.

Save the expanded classwebsite folder to your hard drive and open one of the student# folders

In each of these folders you will find these files:

index.htm - the homepage for your personal website

projects.htm - a directory that is linked to 5 project templates

project1.htm - a blank project webpage

project2.htm - a blank project webpage

project3.htm - a blank project webpage

project4.htm - a blank project webpage

project5.htm - a blank project webpage

art.htm - a webpage to display your digital art collection

links.htm - a webpage to which you can import your Bookmarks

The webpages in your personal webpage are all linked together by the links at the top of each page. As long as you open the webpages from and save the webpages back into the student# folder on the hard disk, the links should remain intact. You can copy or move the entire student# folder from the hard disk to a floppy disk. Renaming the folder should not affect the links on the webpages in the folder.

Use the webpage design skills you developed in the first six activities of this module to complete the webpages in the student# website.
